This competition seems to be the gala event where 2000 entries, as well as 16500 exhibits, are displayed along with edible vegetables. The first Annual vegetable exhibition took place on 9th January 1828 by the Asiatic Society. Prizes were provided to motivate the farmers. The major attraction of the show includes potatoes, thin-skinned and long clean vegetable known as natives of Batavi Aloo. The Rupees and medal are given to the best specimen of the show. The major vegetables available in the exhibition are Cauliflower, Drumhead Cabbage, Radish, Turnip, Water Cress, Knol-Knol, Red Beet, Sugar Leaf Cabbage, Peas, Capsicum and many others.
